Villa 360 stands on a rise above Thompson Cove, in a quiet, low-density neighbourhood of single-family homes. The main view faces north, over the tree canopy to the reef and the open sea. A steady breeze runs across the hill most of the year.
There are three bedrooms and three bathrooms, and room for up to eight. The master suite has a building of its own, across the deck from the main house, for anyone who wants a little distance. The other two bedrooms are in the main house, on separate levels.
Cook in a full kitchen that looks through to the water, eat six at the table indoors or six more out on the screened porch, and finish the evening in the hot tub. The airport is five to ten minutes away by car; Grace Bay is ten to twenty.

Arriving, looking north

The crushed-shell drive ends at a curved white wall, a planter and an iron gate, with a paved forecourt behind. There is parking for two cars on the drive and free parking on the street. From here the house turns away from the road and faces the water. The building on the right of this view is the master suite, which stands on its own.

Thompson Cove from above

Houses here sit on generous lots with vegetation between them. The beach at Thompson Cove is about a fifteen-minute walk downhill and about twenty back up, and beach access is shared rather than private. The airport is five to ten minutes by car, Grace Bay ten to twenty. Nothing except the beach is within walking distance, so plan on a rental car.

Directly overhead
How the three buildings sit around the deck.
The clearest view of the layout. The forecourt and the drive are at the top. The master wing runs off to the left, the main house down and to the right, and the deck with the hot tub fills the space between them. The screened porch is the dark rectangle at the bottom edge of the main roof.

The living room
Two steps down from the kitchen, with sea to the north.
A deep cream sectional, a striped ottoman, a bookcase of books to borrow and a large television, under a vaulted, beamed ceiling with air conditioning and a ceiling fan. The sea lies to the north and shows itself three ways: through the big glass doors onto the screened porch, through the stairwell window, and through the windows opposite the eating area. The large window on the side wall looks over land and hills instead. The sofa is one of the two extra sleeping places.

Indoor dining

The indoor table seats six, on the far side of the peninsula from the kitchen, so whoever is cooking stays in the conversation. A window beside the peninsula frames sky, hills and greenery. Look the other way, through the living room, and the stairwell window frames a slice of sea. There is a second table for six out on the screened porch.

The kitchen
Open to the dining area, and through to the sea.
Glossy blue tile and white shaker cabinets under a vaulted, beamed ceiling. A gas range with an oven, a dishwasher, a full fridge-freezer, a microwave, a toaster, a kettle, a blender and two coffee makers. From the stove you can see straight through the living room to the stairwell window and the water beyond it. The dining table is on the other side of the peninsula.

The kitchen, from the dining side
Full fridge-freezer, gas range, dishwasher.
Pots and pans, crockery and cutlery, wine glasses, a baking sheet, oil, salt, pepper and coffee are all here. There is a charcoal grill outside with utensils and skewers for barbecue nights.

The screened porch

Through the living room's glass doors, a wide screened porch looks north over the canopy to the water. The table seats six. Screens on the sea side and the deck side mean you can sit out after dark without being bitten, and the hot tub is a few steps away through the side screen.

The master suite
A king bed in a building of its own.

French doors open onto a small stone patio among the sea grape. It has the villa's only ensuite bathroom, and the hot tub is just outside the door. A WiFi extender has been fitted in this building.

The main-level queen
A four-poster queen with the picture window on the sea.
On the same floor as the kitchen and living room, this is the bedroom with the view. A large picture window faces the water, and French doors open onto its own balcony. Air conditioning, a ceiling fan and a vaulted ceiling keep it cool. Its bathroom is the shared landing bathroom, half a flight down. The laundry cupboard is across the landing from its door.

The main-level queen's balcony

This balcony belongs to the main-level queen and opens off its French doors, on the same level as the living room. A retractable awning shades it. The view runs wide over the canopy, with a low strip of land at the far left of the horizon and neighbouring roofs at the right.

The lower-level queen
The garden room, with its own porch.
Directly below the main-level queen, two flights down from the entry level. French doors open onto a railed porch among sea grape and palms, and the window catches a sliver of sea at its edge. Air conditioning, a ceiling fan and a television. Its natural bathroom is the basement shower room, one flight further down; the landing bathroom is one flight up.

The master ensuite
A double vanity and a tiled bathing area.
The villa's only ensuite, opening directly off the master suite. Two basins, two mirrors, and a large tiled wet area with a mosaic edge. Shampoo, conditioner, body soap, a hairdryer and towels are provided throughout the house.

The landing bathroom
A deep tub with a shower over it, half a flight down.
This is the shared bathroom, and it is the one most of the house uses. It sits on the landing between floors and serves the living areas, the main-level queen and the lower-level queen. Apart from the master's ensuite, there is no bathroom on the main level, so everyone else goes down at least a flight, including at night.

The best shower in the house.
One flight below the lower-level queen and its natural bathroom. A proper walk-in shower with a blue mosaic floor, white wave-patterned tile and an extractor fan.

The hot tub deck
Open to the sky, with the sea over the treetops.
The hot tub is set into the deck in the crook of the house and is available all year. A patio table and parasol stand at the master end, and the screened porch is a few steps away. The deck is open, with no gate and no lock, so families with young children will want to keep an eye on it.

Laundry
Washer, dryer and a utility sink, off the living room.
A double-door cupboard at the top of the stairs, across the landing from the main-level queen's door. Detergent, an iron, hangers, extra pillows and blankets, and beach towels are all in the house, along with a cot, a travel cot, a high chair, children's tableware, toys and board games.
Sleeping arrangements
Eight is the maximum: six in beds across three bedrooms, plus a single bed and the sofa in the living room.

Good to know
We would rather you knew these before you booked than after you arrived.
- You will need a car.Groceries, restaurants and Grace Bay are a short drive. Only the beach is walkable, and taxis can struggle to find the house.
- The house is not step-free.The living room is two steps down from the kitchen. The landing bathroom is half a flight down, the lower bedroom two flights, the basement shower room three.
- One bathroom serves most of the house.Only the master has an ensuite. There is no bathroom on the main level apart from that one, so everyone else goes downstairs, including at night.
- The hot tub has no gate or lock.It sits on an open deck between the two buildings. Families with young children will want to keep an eye on it.
- The master is a separate building.Reached across the deck, a few steps from the main house. Wonderful for privacy, worth knowing if you have small children sleeping elsewhere.
- There is no pool.There is a hot tub, a screened porch, and a beach fifteen minutes downhill.
- Beach access is shared.Thompson Cove beach is a public stretch, quiet but not private to the house. The path down is easy to miss, so we will send you directions.
- Check-in and check-out.Check in between 16:00 and 18:00, check out before 10:00. Ask us about early arrival or late departure and we will do what we can.
